While reading one of the blogs that I subscribe to recently, I was introduced to the blog WWI: Experiences of an English Soldier. This is a very interesting blog as it consists of letters written home by an English soldier during World War One. It has a very interesting timing of being posted however, every letter is posted in the exact grammar and spellings as the original letters and is posted exactly 90 years after it was received by the family. This leaves the readers in suspense as they are not sure when the next letter will be posted much like the family during the war.
I think this is a great way to preserve the memory of not only the soldier but also allows all people the ability to see how one person’s daily life was during this time in the world. It is a great place to find a first-hand account of some of the action and, as it is being posted on the internet, will be able to be shared for a long time, much longer than the lifespan of a piece of paper.
Thanks to Vaib and Not Just the Future for the link to this blog!!!
