Hey! I’m Kara Shaw and this is my blog. I started this blog as an assignment for my ECMP 355 course at the University of Regina and have since became a fan of blogging and have enjoyed the processes of blogging.
I graduated from Greenall High School which is located in Balgonie, Saskatchewan in June 2007. In high school I was very active in extracurricular activities and played on the junior and senior volleyball teams, was a member of the track team and was involved in the Student Leadership Council (SLC). I also took Advanced Placement courses (calculus and English) in my grade 12 year.
Right now, I work at The Home Depot in Regina. I love going to work as I am in the Paint department and get to see MANY different colours on a regular basis. It always makes my day to see that someone is not afraid to use colour inside or outside of their home to help express who they are and what their personality is. I find that this a challenge for people, choosing colours that are not off-whites or neutral tones but, I am always willing to help when it comes to making colour selections and “thinking outside the box” of safe colours! I blame my love of colours and paint from working at Michaels Arts and Crafts store for two years. Between the job itself and the people I worked with, I became quite a colourful person!

Sam, one of my AWESOME coworkers from Michaels!!
I currently live on an acreage between the towns of Balgonie and Pilot Butte with my parents and younger brother, Kyle. My family plays a large role in my life as they are my base and can always be counted on to help me through all the times that the stress of school, work and life combined seems to become more than I can handle.

You can send this picture to your friends and family as an electronic postcard here.
Its a little creepy, I know!
I listen to a little bit of everything in regards to music and plan to have a page dedicated to links to some of my favourite artists and bands soon, that is as soon as I can find the time to put it all together! It will be constantly updated so keep checking it out to find interesting music! (At least I think it’s interesting!)

This blog is really good kara!!! I love the videos you added, expecially the “Derive with me” one! that was really funny. Your blog has lots of information and would be helpful for other teachers or people who want to hire you in the future.
With all the knowledge you have on here, it sounds like you are excited to be a teacher. On thing that might effect your profile is the page you added with poems or quotes. The first 2 or 3 were not very professional, I know its not your fault what is put onto the other blog, but just watch out for something like that. I did enjoy the ‘life’ blog you added. How true it is!
In the ‘about me’ post, maybe add in some things you did through out your life such as travel, memories, awards and other such things. Maybe even state what really motivated you to become a teacher or who even. On my post I have a whole page dedicated towards pictures, maybe this will help your readers know more about you. Under each picture put comments or descriptions.
These are a few suggestions, I hope you enjoyed this class, i sure did! MERRY CHRISTMAS and maybe see you in the new year!

You have a really good blog! Keep it up!
