Sleepless…

Its one of those nights when I know that I should be sleeping but can’t and thus am sitting here of all the assignments I should be doing. At this point, life sucks. The semester is just about over, all I have left is one Geography essay (which I haven’t started and is due Monday), one Math assignment, two Education Math assignments, two Geography labs, and a history quiz or two. Not even mentioning the studying I will need to do for my finals but, those aren’t until April.

This semester I have been able to go into the schools and have been teaching math to students once a week. It’s really exciting and I enjoy seeing the students when they truely understand a new concept but the experience is teaching me that I don’t think that I would be able to teach at the middle years level as they never seem to be sitting in their desks and they are never working on something productive, I guess I just would like more structure in my room.

I am yet again playing rec volleyball this semester and last night we beat the first place team in the round robin, hopefully moving our ranks up, we have decided that it is our turn to win the T-shirts!

Well I think I should probably head to bed now as the computer screen is finally making my eyes want to close!!

Summary of an Amazing Night of Music

Last night was the Against Me concert, and it was an amazing one that was a large part of a very busy night for me! The night started out by meeting my friends for supper before the concert and then we went and watched Things Change, the first opening band of the night. They were awesome and sounded really good, I was really quite impressed with them. After their set, my friend Kaitlyn and I ran, actually we sprinted, to my car to drive to the university to play in our volleyball game as it was a playoff game and neither of us wanted to miss it. We played the game and, although we played really well, we lost. Well after that we changed (obviously, spandex is not really concert attire!) and sprinted back to my car so that we would be back in time to watch Against Me, and we made it! So we missed Geronimo but we all have to make our sacrifices sometimes! Haha! The show was amazing and probably the best show I have been to and I definitely recommend going to see them as they are awesome live!

Long time, no post…

Well it has been a long time since my last post, like just about a month, but I have been rather busy lately. Between midterms, assignments and research papers paired with work and recreation volleyball, it seems like I barely have a minute to myself these days, and today I am spending that time writing to you!

Over our Reading Week, I went to Edmonton with a couple of friends which turned out to be quite the experience. We got up early on the Wednesday to get to the airport and on the plane, and once we were in the air, we circled Regina about four times before landing and being told that our flight was canceled. This was not very good at all for us as we could not get to Edmonton before Friday morning which was rather depressing and would not work as we were to be coming home on Saturday at about lunch. So, in order to save our trip, we took the bus to Edmonton. It ended up being a very interesting experience and I’m a little glad that is how it happened as we have a great story to tell from our break to our friends.

Us trying to figure out how we are going to get to Edmonton after our flight was canceled.

Our volleyball team this semester, Richard Simmons’ Team of Great Skill, is doing really well in the round robin play but I think that we are the only team to have had three teams default when playing us. I like to think that they are just that intimidated by us! Haha!

Other than that, all I really have to say is that Ariel Mura has a show at The Exchange in Regina on March 28 which is open to all ages so get some friends together and come out and support her!

How do you spell cold? S-a-s-k-a-t-c-h-e-w-a-n!

Oh my goodness!!!

That is the only way to sum up what I think about the weather right now. Like come on! We were not supposed to survive in -50 degree Celcius weather!!!! Its just NOT cool, its FREEZING!!

Okay, enough with ranting about the weather, although I could probably write a huge long post on it, I have more important things to talk about. Like, for instance, I have gotten my dad addicted to YouTube! He was one of those people who was very anti-computers and technology and sharing things over the internet but, after a few funny videos that I had found for him to watch, he has officially been converted. Why just last night the rest of the family was watching television and all we could hear from the computer room was his laughing!

Volleyball has started again and we have a slightly different team this semester but I think that it will still be very fun, interesting and hyperactive….we tend to get that way from time to time at volleyball! Haha!

To update on what I have been doing for entertainment lately, I went to the Big and Rich concert with Terri Clark and Emerson Drive and I must say, they are amazing! I wasn’t a fan of Two Foot Fred or Cowboy Troy but I was having the time of my life when Emerson Drive and Terri Clark were on stage and when Big and Rich say Holy Water and Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy! I also went to Blue Rodeo, I didn’t know many of the songs but hey, they are one of the bands you go to see just so that you can say you have seen them live, it doesn’t even matter if you like them or not!

Other than all of this, I don’t really know if I have anything interesting to say right now…..hmmmm…..no I think that I have hit all the topics that I was wanting to! Haha! See ya!!!!!!

Volleyball Play-offs

Last night was the first night of play-off games for the volleyball league, and what a time for my team to get our act together!! We played the best game of the season and worked our butts off to win and proceed further in the league! We play again tonight, here’s to hoping we have a repeat of last night!!

AAAAHHHH!!

So I was just getting into the habit of when to do my homework with the strike being on and not having volleyball once a week and now, everything will once again be screwed up! The playoffs for volleyball start this week and I was really banking on having Wednesday night off to work on assignments. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited that volleyball is back on and that I can play again but it is a little bit of a short notice!

Well I guess that this week will once again be a stressful one for me, lets hope it all works out in the long run!!

If you are playing in the mixed volleyball league and are not sure as to when you play, click here for the schedule.

Flashbacks

Yesterday I received an email from my high school volleyball coach asking me to come to their home tournament this weekend. As I had, on multiple occasions, promised the girls that I would come back to watch them play, I decided to go watch them play Estevan this evening. It was so weird to be back in my high school as a graduateĀ  rather than a student and to be watching the girls from the stands over the court or the bench. It made me realize that I really miss the relationships that I had in high school and the closeness of a team as we were more than just friends and teammates, we were practically sisters!!! I guess the point of this post was just to let those girls know that I’m rooting for them this year and all of them after that and that I miss playing with my amazing group of sisters!!!

Volleyball Results

My team is 2-0 for volleyball!! I’m really excited about this week’s games because we have two new players!!! The only bad thing is that one of our players quit which I guess is okay because he was offered an opportunity to be on the Cougar wrestling team! I can’t wait until Wednesday to play again!!!

Volleyball

I am so excited about the beginning of the intramural volleyball!! I am on a team with a bunch of people that I have played with for about 6 years and am excited to continue with our random and exciting antics on the court!! I guess there is also the two guys on our team…one of whom I have played against on multiple occasions and one who has never played, something that we believe should be curable!! Haha!
